GAZE LA PRAIRIE

By integrating the frame as an extension of the photograph, it becomes the expression of what connects the subject and the viewer, through the photographer's spectrum. This extension of the image through the frame represents the transition from the lived moment to the memory we hold within ourselves. These portraits illustrate, beyond mere emotion, the range of inscriptions of lived experiences. Like the movement of shapes and colors that come together within us after the lived experience, Namsa Leuba thus illustrates the embodiment of the present moment taking shape in the photographic object and invites one to be a spectator of diffraction. (These images are a reinterpretation of work done for a commission from La Prairie presented at Art Basel in 2019 - produced in Tahiti).
