HIGH FIVE!

17.12.23  → 14.04.24

Swiss and Guinean photographer, Namsa Leuba is one of the 26 personalities taking part in the exhibition HIGH FIVE!

She chose a work by non-Aboriginal Australian artist Marion Gaemers made of recycled fishing nets and cables on a supermarket trolley recovered at sea. This work is set in dialogue with one by Namsa Leuba herself, entitled RECYCLING FOR DIFFRACTIONS (2020), in acrylic and brushed copper. Through the deconstruction of images from previous projects, this work represents the ongoing evolution of the artist's thinking through the diffraction of the work by recycling.

To discover in our exhibition HIGH FIVE!, until April 14th!

STRANGER IN THE VILLAGE

03.09.23 – 07.01.24 Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau, CH

Reflecting on Racism with James Baldwin

In his famous text Stranger in the Village, the US-American writer James Baldwin addressed the racism that informed his stay in Switzerland in the 1950s. Baldwin's words continue to inspire many artists to this day. They hold up a mirror to us as a society and have lost none of their relevance. The group exhibition explores belonging and exclusion through current works by local and international artists, raising questions that concern us all.
